Your talent
I am a visual artist.
Where you're from?
I was born in the Bungoma District in Western Kenya.
Why did you get interested in music?
I was inspired by my second born brother, Samson Nduati.
What are you up to now?
I was recently awarded with a trophy because of my "Painting For Peace" messages, and a certificate of participation, as a community mediator. Now I'm working on a painting of a woman - a friend who I really liked when I was young. She used to exchange fish with maize from my mother.
What was your piece of art and why?
A piece I made from junk. I made the number seven because I believe it's the key to heaven. This is actually a very hard question so I'd also mention a piece called "The Dowry" - it talked about a lady who demanded two elephants for her dowry.
Is there any place in Kenya that inspires you in terms of your art?
Kibera, Kibera Kibera, because of the shanty houses. It's densely populated with so many different personalities.
If you could pick your dream wildlife destination in Kenya - where would it be and what would you get up to there?
The Masai Mara - I would love to encounter the Big Five.
Who out of your musical/artistic influences would make the best game viewing partner?
Sean Paul because he is always lightened up.
What do you love about the Kenyan people?
The lovely people, but they're hard to describe.
How does it feel to be in Kenya now - what are travellers missing out on?
The weather is cool, the beach is calm - solitude, serenity and great wildlife - they should definitely include a stay on the beach.
Get more out of your stay in Kenya with an add on beach break. More sun for your Kenyan Shilling - Acacia Adventure Holidays' 4-day Mombasa Beach Escape is essential R&R, post safari.
Can you give adventurers the inside track on travel in your home destination - what should they bring to Kenya?
A digital camera, sunburn lotion and a big appetite for the local food.
What would be the first words you'd utter to a tourist if you hooked up with them on the street, and where's the first place you'd take them to in downtown Nairobi?
"Nice to meet you - I hope you are feeling at home in Kenya." Then I'd probably take them to "The Carnivore" for the best local food in town.
"Must have" phrases for adventurers in Kenya?
"Habari yako?" (How are you?)
"Hapa ni wapi?" (Where is this place?)
