JAM TO A MORE RESPONSIBLE VIBE IN NAIROBI WITH UPTOYOUTOO.COM

If you're a responsible traveller, you need to hook up with uptoyoutoo.com, a Dutch organisation working in Nairobi to provide opportunities for talented Kenyan musicians.

Based in Eastlands, Nairobi, around 25 minutes outside of the capital, you can make a visit, and while you're there perhaps jam with some of the collectives up and coming artists. However, we'd use that last term lightly, as Goreala, a hot musician working with the organisation, has recently received raving reviews in France for his latest album, due for release in Germany, Austria and Switzerland under the 'Afrikool" label. France's world music magazine "Vibration" also called Goreala's latest offering "Metaphor za Mtaa" the best English speaking rap album of the year" - the rising star crossing continents.

Other serious up and coming artists include Stan - whose music is somewhat of a cross between Prince and Justin Timberlake; and Polycarp Otieno Ochieng, a talented guitarist from "Sauti Soul," - about to release their new album "Dunia". While the album is still under wraps, anyone about to hit Kenya's cosmopolitan capital should watch this space or get involved at www.uptoyoutoo.com.

Visitors to the project are asked to make a small contribution of 10 Euros. You can also catch up with uptoyoutoo.com on Facebook at: Imekubaliwa - the Creative Artists Network Kenya - an online initiative for raw talent and creative minds.
